DIY Key chain

Merry belated Christmas! Christmas is unfortunately over, but all that means is after all that holiday shopping for everyone, it is time to treat yourself!

I present to you an easy DIY Key chain!

Excuse the random glue stain

For this DIY, you will need:

  • Hemp/Bamboo cord
  • Chain
  • Charm
  • A Key chain Ring
  • 2 Jump rings
  • Pliers
  • Glue (not pictured)
  • Scissors (not pictured)

Begin by cutting out two pieces of hemp depending on how long you want the hemp part to be. I cut mine about 12 inches or 31 centimeters. Fold them over the key chain ring and make a knot.

Make square knots down the length of the hemp. If you are not sure on how to do so, you can refer to my earlier tutorial here

Make a knot at the end of the hemp and add some glue to secure the knot. Trim off the excess hemp.

Moving onto the chain! You want to be able to see your charm, but you don't want the lengths of the two attachments to be too different. Cut the chain to be the same length as the hemp. Attach a jump ring and the charm to one side with the pliers. On the other side of the chain, use the jump ring to attach it to the key chain ring.

Voila!

Enjoy!
