DIY: Two Strand Crossing Beaded Bracelet

It's been awhile that I have posted a DIY so I thought I would share a bracelet DIY for a bracelet that I have been making for a few years. It's fairly easy but I love how simple and elegant it looks when it's worn!

And I just realized that this is the second time I have used this amethyst as a prop and I should probably invest in some other props.

DIY Chain Handpiece

There is a certain simplicity and elegance about chain hand pieces. My friend, Laverne, styled it well with her leather jacket but I think they usually look with everything and for almost every occasion.

They are incredibly versatile to make - you can make it all chain or add beads to the wrist portion - it's entirely up to you! Here is my take on it.

DIY: Easy Spiral Macrame Bracelet

I know, I know. This post is a day late. It was supposed to go up yesterday, but in the midst of Diwali celebrations I didn't get a chance to finish editing my pictures. So Happy Belated Diwali! May good conquer evil!

Today's DIY post is fairly simple and I remember making these all the time when I was younger. Macrame bracelets were my gateway into jewelry making, so it feels nice to make something that I used to make all the time when I was younger. I think this is the third macrame bracelet I have posted on the blog. You can find the other bracelet tutorials here and here!

DIY: How to make your Basic Stretch Bracelets

Bracelets are great, but they have their problems. If you have small wrists, they are constantly falling off. Clasps are great, but it can be difficult to close them with one hand so you end up becoming a contortionist for about 20 minutes.

But the stretch bracelets that I have avoided making for years since they seem too basic and childish bypass all those problems. So here is a quick, updated, adult version on how to make those stretchy bracelets.

DIY Sliding Knot Bracelet

I have been slowly running out of jewelry supplies which means the jewelry I can make is sorely limited...or is it?

Thankfully, if you have the basic string and beads, you are all set. The only problem is the clasps, but thankfully a sliding knot will do the trick!

DIY: Gray and Gold Swirls Bracelet

I don't like wasting things. These include but are not limited to food, water, and jewelry making supplies.

After a while, bits and ends start piling up. I have been experimenting with wire work and I have accumulated an abundance of twisted wire fragments laying around. Instead of attempting to straighten them or tossing them out, I decided to work with them and not against them.

I have been digging the gold and gray combination for a while so I am incredibly happy with the result.

DIY: Dainty bracelet

Sometimes, simple is better.

Don't get me wrong. I love complicated. I love challenges. I love wearing ostentatious amounts of statement jewelry. But sometimes, you need a breather.

And that is where this bracelet comes in. Simple, easy to make, and a quick break before diving back into life.

So, let's begin.

Remember, breathe.

I would like to thank Ayden and Laverne for the lovely pictures again!

Try out different color combos!

For this DIY, you will need:

  • Pliers
  • 20 or 24 gauge wire
  • Chain
  • A bead

1.

Cut a piece of chain that is half the length of your wrist. Cut a piece of wire about 3 inches long. Make a loop at one end with your pliers and attach it your chain.

2.

Add your bead to the piece of wire. Make a loop at the other end of the wire and attack it to another piece of chain that is half the length of your wrist.

3.

Attach your clasps and you are done!

You now have a small dainty bracelet that is great for layering!

DIY Spike Bracelet

If you have been following this blog for awhile, you may have noticed some motifs and recurring themes. One of which is a love for spikes. I kind of love spikes. Used properly they can bring some flavor into a potentially boring piece of jewelry.

The only problem is deciding at what point you have too many spikes.

This DIY is fairly easy and I am not sure if it even warrants a DIY...

DIY Beads and Chain Bracelet

I have an excuse. I have a very valid excuse for posting two days late. Kinda. I didn't forget nor did I not want to post. The post I was working on was just taking too long so I had to scrap the idea. Thankfully, I had this DIY as a back-up!

The DIY bracelet uses the same idea from my DIY Spike Necklace. A centerpiece of beads on wire secured with chain. It's super easy to make and it's great for layering!
Thanks  to Ayden and Laverne for this lovely picture!

DIY Crystal Bracelet

Remember how I said I would post every Friday?

It's becoming more of I will post sometime in the early hours of Saturday. But hey, at least I am still posting and not forgetting about it...though we came very close to doing that today.

This DIY is actually a present I gave to my friend a couple of months ago and I apologize in advance for the lack of pictures. That being said, it is a fairly easy DIY!

DIY Beaded Bracelet

I know what you are thinking. ANOTHER beaded bracelet?! Using some of the SAME beads?!

I couldn't resist. For some reason, I am really loving beaded pieces and I simply love these beads.

That being said, it is different! We are using beading wire instead of hemp and I will be honest, I had forgotten that it takes longer to work with wire.

Still, the time was worth it and I am incredibly happy with this simple, chic bracelet.

Thanks to my friends Laverne and Ayden once again!

Back to the basics - DIY Bracelet

I think for most people, the process of making your own jewelry undergoes certain steps.

It starts out simple enough. A beading set from the local toy store that had some string that would never knot well, cheap plastic beads, and only four clasps. Flash forward, and now you have multiple drawers and cabinets filled with all types of beads, wire, chains, jump rings, clasps, and the list goes on.

And sometimes you just don't want to deal with the wire and the chains. And this is a DIY for those days. The days you just want to string some beads. The only difference between then and now? You probably have better supplies.

I now present to you a very easy DIY bracelet!

Thanks to my friends Laverne and Ayden once again!

Leftovers Bracelet

This DIY is for those forgotten beads and chains - the beads and chains that almost made it to a piece of jewelry but fell short at the last moment.

This is their last chance.

I present to you the leftovers bracelet:

Hogwarts House Pride

I just realized that I am going to have to be more creative with my post titles - how many times am I going to write DIY bracelet/necklace/ring/etc.?

I am back again for another DIY! The little backstory behind this DIY is that I made these bracelets for my friends. I mean, it's inevitable. When your friend's birthday rolls around, why not make them something personalized. Something that says hey, look, I put time and effort into crafting this for you! Whether or not they would prefer something store-bought, well, they haven't told me otherwise. But who can say no to bracelets that show off their Hogwarts House pride?

Pandas can eat my jewelry.

How shall I begin? Nothing particularly interesting has happened since I last posted. I just have a simple DIY for a  bracelet that has been sitting on the back burner for ages. I was actually going to post this yesterday but my camera was being temperamental. So without wasting any more time, here is the DIY for this lovely bracelet!
