DIY: Easy Beaded Fringe Necklace

It's been awhile since I have posted a DIY, so I thought I would share a quick and easy one today!

These Beaded Fringe Necklaces are incredibly easy to make and can be worked into many different pieces of jewelry. You can add the beaded fringe on a longer chain, or make a pair of fun earrings instead!
Here is my take on it.

DIY: Hi-Lo Necklace

Layering necklaces has been one of the major jewelry styling trends lately, and one of it's off-shoots have been Hi-Lo necklaces. The wonderful thing about Hi-Lo necklaces is that instead of having to coordinate all of your necklaces to make a complete look and then having them inevitably tangle, you can just wear a Hi-Lo necklace and bypass both problems!

There are infinite ways you can make a Hi-Lo necklace and I am simply offering two options. I would love to see your take on them!

DIY White Crystal Necklace

I would like to thank Ayden and Laverne for the lovely pictures once again!

I promised a DIY this week and it's finally here! As I mentioned in the last Perusals of the Week, things just got busy and I didn't have as much time to edit pictures and type a post. But, I am fairly free now, so you should anticipate many more DIYs!

DIY Statement Crystal Necklace

Do you like geometry? Or puzzles? Even if you don't, I assure you that you will enjoy this DIY statement crystal necklace.

I was going to post yesterday but I was so tired I couldn't even remember the word rhinestones. My brain simply wasn't cooperating so I figured a good night's sleep would be the only remedy.

Now that I am awake and armed with a cup of tea, let us begin!

DIY Bead Necklace

I think I mentioned it in an earlier post, but I need to work on my post naming skills. I spent a good ten minutes mulling over what to call this post and the best I could come up with was DIY Bead Necklace. I would fail in the nail polish naming business, lol!

Today, I have a lovely surprise for you! Instead of just giving you stand alone shots of the jewelry, my dear friends Laverne and Ayden offered to help out! Laverne is the lovely model and Ayden took the pictures.

Fair warning: This DIY is slightly more time-consuming and nerve-wrecking as compared to my other DIYs. You have been warned!

Doesn't she look great?!

DIY Crystal Necklace

I would like to begin this post by wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

2014 is a chance for a fresh start for this blog and myself. I started this blog in August of 2012 but I hardly posted. Things happened. I got busy. I lost motivation. I was too unsure.

However, I plan to change that. Because I learned something in 2013. I learned the key word for 2014. And that key word is discipline. And that's it. It's not simply motivation. Motivation comes and goes. It's not waiting about the perfect moment. That moment may never come.

It's the tough and gritty discipline and I plan on using that power. So for now, I begin with the plan to post every Friday. I plan to post more quality posts. I plan on expanding this blog to the idea I had initially.

And I hope you guys stay for the ride.

So without wasting any more time, here is the DIY for today!

DIY Spike Necklace

The biggest problem I have with making jewelry is that I get too excited.

What begins as a simple necklace often turns into an extravagant piece of costume jewelry. Which then means I never have the opportunity to wear it. So, for this necklace I remedied the problem by sticking with a limited supply of materials. Sometimes less is more.

And the result is a somewhat edgy necklace that goes with most outfits!

DIY Triangle and Hearts Necklace

If I had to pick my favorite shape, it would be the triangle.

Why? It's the most stable shape. They don't deform easily since the angles are held constant. In fact, they are used extensively in the construction of bridges and buildings. Or in my case, my sixth grade toothpick bridge.

And so today, we pay homage to this simple yet durable shape.

As for the heart, well, I really liked the bead.
